THE COMMUNITY WE WANT TO BUILD
Every interest
is a connection.
CuriousLeap starts with a simple idea: people discover possibilities by trying things and learning from one another. Over time, we want it to become a community connecting students, educators and people who do the work.
Available today: your private interest map
Save careers, compare paths, try activities and record reflections in your notebook. These stay in your browser. The map connects your saved careers with your curiosity. It does not collect or display population data.
Today: moderated discussion circles
Parent and student forums now offer email-verified accounts, parent approval for students, and reviewed discussions. Teacher-led circles, shared projects and verified mentorship remain future possibilities.
Eventually: a societal interest graph
A shared graph could show how interests connect to skills, activities, careers and communities. It should help answer questions such as: Which interests are growing? Which skills connect creative and technical fields? Where do students want opportunities to try something?
Build the graph from meaningful evidence
Interest → activity → reflection → skill → career is the core connection. A page view alone is not evidence of an aspiration. Any future aggregate should distinguish curiosity from completed activities and self-reported interest, and explain those limitations.
Community principles
- Participation in shared data is optional, with a clear explanation and a way to withdraw.
- Private notes stay private by default. Never expose a child’s individual graph publicly.
- Use reviewed contributions and verified, supervised mentorship.
- Publish only aggregated patterns with enough participants to prevent identification.
- Do not turn interest signals into ability scores, fixed labels or judgments about a student.
Forum conversations are available to signed-in members of their own space. There is no societal community dataset or shared analytics on this version. Notebook reflections remain private in your browser.
